I . Documents

• You must present your valid ID, passport, Alien Resident Certificate, and driver license (local driver license and international driver permit  ).

• Age requirement : Minimum 25 years plus 2 years of driving experiences.

• Young Driver Fee : drivers under 25 years old, NT$750 daily / person.

• Additional driver :NT$300 / day/ person .

• Formosa Car Rentals reserves the right not to rent who is unable to satisfy credit requirements or who in the opinion of Formosa Car Rentals constitutes a risk.

II. Rate , deposit & payment

Rate

   Rate are subject to change without further notice and varies by rental period.

• Government tax : 5% VAT will be included.

• No hidden extras.

• Compulsory insurance included.
  Coverage for injury  : max. NT$200,000 each person.
  Coverage for death :   max. NT$2,000,000 each person.
  Some compulsory’s can even void in certain circumstances ( for example, drink and drive).

• Unlimited mileage.

Misc. fee

• Young Driver Fee : drivers under 25 years old, NT$750 daily / person .

• Additional driver :NT$300 / day/ person .

• Drop off / collect Fee or One Way rental fee : varies on the destinations.
  Car must be picked up and returned to Formosa Car Rentals. Unless :

  1. Surcharge required for delivery service. E.X. airport or hotel. Drop-off charge varies by the destinations.

  2. One Way rental is possible. Please required for One Way fee upon reservation.

• Overtime : indicated on the quotation .
  One rental day is counted as 24 hours. One-hour overtime charge is measured by 10% of daily rent , insurance fee  will be charged by day not by hour.
  Over 6 hours, you will be charged for one-day rent.
  Extension of rental : not permitted without prior agreement.
  Office hour: 08:00-20:00 daily.

• Toll fee : will be collected at the end when drop off the car. Cash please.

• Parking fee & speeding ticket :  

• <parking >please pay at any convenient stores before you return the rental car.                             

• <violation tickets> will be e-mailed  to you once we received it from police office. please pay by on-line link.

• Gasoline : must be returned same amount as the time of rental. Or NT$300 for handling fee will be charged.

• Insurance excess : max. NT$10,000- or NTD30,000 (imported cars) per accident.

• Refundable deposit , upon returning the rental car

• NT$10,000  required for small cars.

• NT$30,000  required for imported cars  ( such as Lexus, BMW, Audi . …)

Payment

• Major credit cards (Visa, Master, JBC , 銀聯卡), in the same name.

• Debit card is  not accepted.

• The estimated cost of the rental plus NT$10,000 or NT$30,000 is payable at the time of taking delivery ( or same value of USD, EURO ,GBP, SGD ,are also accepted)
  Final adjustment will be made on completion of the rental.

III. CDW 

If you are booking as a foreigner, you will be required to purchase a package that includes a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), which included Theft Protection. These cover your rental in case the car is damaged or stolen, and typically have a low excess, or no excess  options.   

1. Compulsory insurance included, (not included the driver only for passengers in our rental car and the passengers in the other car)
   Coverage for injury  : max. NT$200,000 each person.
   Coverage for death :   max. NT$2,000,000  each person.
   Some compulsory can even void in certain circumstances ( for example, drink and drive).

2. Coverage : 3rd party property max. NT$500,000 per accident.

3rd party injury/death max.NT$2,000,000 /person ; NT$4,000,000 /whole single accident

3. Car theft protection (TP) : 20% of market value + undue premium

4. *Collision damage Waiver ( CDW included)) with max. TWD 10,000 or  TWD30,000. deductible, in one accident + operation lost , max. 20 days of rental fee + depreciation fee , 20% of total repair cost 

5. Driver injury / death : NT$100,000 / 3 million  

6.  Passengers injury / weather : NT$100,000/  1 million person

7. Excess insurance , upon your request

8.  Free tow service for 30 km.

***Your Responsibility*** :

1.  Max. TWD10,000 or TWD 30,000 deductible per accident  

+operating loss  for repair period (max. 20 days)

    + depreciation  value : 20% of total repair cost 

2. Total Write-off :  TWD20,000 + 25% of actual  market  value + operation lost , max. 20 days of original rental fee 

3. car theft protection  (TP) :  deductible  20%  of market value 

4. Damages and Compensation which are over the insurance coverage for the car rental contract.

***Behivors not covered by insurnace :***

1. Drink and drive 

2. Fair wear and tears  (such as :flat tires , rim , wiper , windows….) and spare parts.

3. Any damages caused by typhoon and earthquake or unknown reasons are excluded

4. Criminal liability 刑事責任。.

5. Fraud 請求賠償時如有虛報、詐欺行為，保險公司不賠。 

6. Hit and run 肇事逃逸

7.   petrol, toll fee, violation tickets , parking fee 

for example:  

Overspending for 40 km and drink and drive , not only the fine but also will result to be cancelled the car plate  for 6-month and lessee has to pay for the compensation  for operating loss at total of ( daily rate x 180 days)

pick up and drop off at major cities in Taiwan or any place you like,  please send us your request in advance.

we are flexible about the change of your rental schedule , 3 days notice in advance will be acceptable.
